Rest day transit Red Bluff to Garberville

Today we had a quiet start and managed to load all the gear and bikes into Priscilla for the 220 mile transit to Garberville.

Plenty of room and good views as we followed yet another river through the mountains on our way to the coast.

More roadworks

The car in front is our ' pilot' leading us through the road works

We hit the ocean at Eureka where the weather was not as hot and more humid. Then on to Ferndale for lunch famed for its Victorian era architecture in its buildings. Which were impressive

From there we made it to Garberville in time for the free cheese and wine happy hour at our hotel. Dinner ended up at an old hotel the Benbow which was very stylish, pity we still had our shorts and t shirts on, but so did everyone else.

Tomorrow we go back to see more of the big redwoods in the 'avenue of the giants' which we will ride in the morning and then head for the coast and Fort Bragg.
